I received my Bachelor in science in chemical engineering at the Universidad Iberoamericana in 2022 and got the amazing opportunity to continue my graduate studies at the University of Waterloo doing a master´s in science in process system engineering (PSE). My research aims to implement novel Machine Learning techniques such as Reinforcement Learning in dynamic optimization processes.

During my studies I worked in the development of a hybrid platform between Python and the chemical engineering simulation suite ASPEN that enabled to perform real-time optimization. In this case this platform was used to optimize via genetic algorithms the composition of a working fluid in an Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC)

Remarkable activities:

  • Hybrid Python-ASPEN Plus platform for real-time optimization.
  • Synthesis of silver-nanoparticles using as reactants silver nitrate (AgNO3) and Sargassum (reducing agent). All the experimental experience was performed in the bioengineering laboratory of the Universidad Iberoamericana, run by Dra. Lorena Leticia Pedraza Segura.
  • Encourage the creation of "Voz de la Experiencia", a series of talks given by professors from the chemical engineering department during the COVID-19 pandemic, where they shared their professional backgrounds and advice with students.

Travelling is a passion of mine, and I hold a special place in my heart for the European continent, particularly Italy, where I have deep roots. In addition to exploring new places, I also enjoy taking leisurely walks and going for runs amidst nature's beauty.


When forced indoors, I tend to devote a significant amount of my attention to football, particularly the Premier League and La Liga. Additionally, I have a keen interest in reading, with literature from Hispanoamerica holding a special place in my heart and having left a lasting impression on me. Moreover, I spend a considerable amount of my leisure time delving into the latest technological breakthroughs in the domains of Machine Learning and Data Science, enrolling in courses and watching educational videos on YouTube.
